Yankees go back on the road
As soon as the final out is recorded Sunday, the Yankees will be headed on their way to Texas, where they’ll don red caps in honor of Memorial Day and play an afternoon contest at The Ballpark in Arlington.
It will have been a successful homestand, one highlighted by a nine-game winning streak and at least one more whipped cream pie after Saturday’s memorable comeback victory against Brad Lidge.
While the Yankees split town, so will Xavier Nady, Jorge Posada, Jose Molina and Cody Ransom — off to Tampa, where the clocks on their various rehabs can really kick into gear.
I’m in Newark waiting for them to call the flight to Dallas. Talk to you from the Lone Star State.
