Chien-Ming Wang to Pawtucket

The Yankees have decided what to do with Chien-Ming Wang — he’ll start Friday for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre at Pawtucket and return to New York on Saturday, at which point a decision will be made yet again.

The company line has been unchanged: they liked what they saw out of his sinker in the bullpen this week at Yankee Stadium and want to see if it can translate into game action.

Johnny Damon is out of the lineup tonight. He’s “banged up” and sore, Joe Girardi said, after crashing into the left field fence last night chasing Adam Jones’ fifth-inning home run.

Good to hear that Joba’s injury will be OK and that he will pitch his next rotation. My first mental thought to him was : Do not let B-Rob on base. He struck him out.

Is it true that as the final out, Huff struck out and Cervelli gave him a fist pump??

From the NYY site:
A line drive off the bat of Adam Jones that hit Joba Chamberlain in the right knee forced the Yankees righty from the game after 14 pitches as his club goes for its ninth straight victory.
Veras following Alba now that’s a Quinela. Get rid of both of them until they can learn to pitch in the majors..

Any news on the extend of Joba’s injury?

Agreed, Matthew. But I’m more willing to overlook a base running mistake when you’ve brought in 2 runs and the game isn’t on the line.
Can’t say it enough: Aceves is the man. Hope Joba’s not too banged up.

Fellow bloggers please give us non-Yes subscribers an update on Joba when you hear anything. Jeter & Cano back to back doubles for a lead.

Could that mean that Wang comes back earlier than expected??

One thing is certain, (JOBA) It doesn’t appear to be a good sign. ..Aceves got out of that jam.. Who’s next. I doubt if they’ll pitch him too long, didn’t he throw last night??
