The A-Rod train keeps rolling

a-rod2.jpgAlex Rodriguez has homered for the fourth consecutive game here tonight at Yankee Stadium, slugging a two-run shot in the first inning off Baltimore’s Brad Bergesen.

It was Rodriguez’s fifth of the season, having started his return tour against these same Orioles back on May 8 at Camden Yards with a homer on his first swing of the season. The homer was A-Rod’s seventh in 33 at-bats since being reinstated from the disabled list and his 49 home runs vs. Baltimore lead all players.

Get this stat – since A-Rod came back, Mark Teixeira was hitting .342 (13-for-38) coming into tonight’s game with 10 runs scored, three doubles, five homers and 13 RBIs.

The team may see a need to have someone fully streched out as part of a rotation in Scranton for future injury fill-ins/spot starts. That could be Aceves.

Joe,
Your standpoint is the Red Sox, correct?

That 3-4 stinks from our standpoint. Because it might be the best in the game. Interesting, maybe I will explore and see which 3-4 is actually the best in the game. Can’t think of any better…

Matt,
You can say what you want about Coke the other night. 36 pitches and 4 outs, two walks, and a run. His first ML save for the Yankees? KNOWING that they had a small streak on the line. KNOWING that Mo isn’t coming in to bail him out. If there was ever a pressure situation, that was it. And he handled it. My guess is he’ll do better next time.

I really enjoyed this game.

God bless the yanks for having an inning like that 7th. It allowed me to turn off the inter-gender dynamic duo on the radio feed and relax. After that innng, a simple box score was good enough, until I catch the highlights on sports center.

Let’s see #8 in a row tommorow, or in my case, let’s listen to #8 tommorow. Freakin orioles.

Go yanks!

Game, set and match. Good turn around by the coaching staff and team. Tell you fellow bloggers I like winning more than losing. By the way Tomko reminds me alot of Dick Tidrow from the late 70’s. Crafty veteran that gets people out.

I must say that I had lost some of my faith in the team, but these last games have been great; that is how we should play every game, with the right attitude, they have been playing as if they were in the final series, keep it up …… yeah!!!!!

Total aside, the highlights of yesterdays game, Penas bare handed out with a great throw to Ist, followed by the interview with Coke after the game, hilarious and the two veterans Pena and Cervelli calming down a veteran pitcher trying to close out the game. It has been an unbelievably long time since this has happended to the team.

Good to see Bruney back on the hill.

I do like an inning like the 7th tonight. Take a close game and blow it open. Let Mo and the pen finish this one.

So very sorry zerp. I sympathise as living in Australia I as a rule am handcuffed for the first 10 0r so games with one MLB problem or another . Touch wood all fixed. Unless they black out games to Australia, that would be neat. You are missing a beauty. Sabbathia unhittable almost. The hitting has exploded in the 7th now up 9-1/ Texeira has gone beserk in recent games. Jeter well he is Jeter. ARod missed his second by mere feet. Matsui up my tip he will also hit a home run.

Hope your problem is fixed.

This is well overdue but has been coming , this should be 7 straight with Joba up tomorrow going for 8. Blue Jays in a series with Boston.

Freakin orioles. They blackout MLB in this part of NC as their local territory. Yet they have no local TV feed in this area. Real freakin smart. They are preventing people from watching the very team that they’re trying to promote in the area.

So we’re stuck listening or following on “game day.” So that’s what, 19 games out of 162. Only about 15% of the yanks schedule. I think they ought to refund 15% of my money. Bas*ards!

As far as the yanks go, why the hell didn’t we send Veras out? Is he out of options or what? And if he is, who really cares cares? He stinks, let someone else claim him.

Hopefully, Bruney will help settle the pen down, Wang will be able to keep the ball down, and the yanks will be fine.

Well, gotta go back and listen to Sterling and the wench “describe” the game. Freakin orioles.
