Yanks still trying to get it going

The Yankees’ losing streak reached four last night as Mark Teixeira came up with the big game-tying hit and Mariano Rivera did his job in the ninth inning, cheering wildly that the team would be able to get it done in the bottom half of the frame.

It didn’t work out that way. The Yanks were blanked in the ninth and Carlos Pena took Phil Coke deep in the top of the 10th, and that essentially was it. The Yankees had lost, 4-3, and found a new way to do it.

At some point, they will need to start hitting with runners in scoring position to get out of this funk. It’s true that a team never looks as sluggish as they do when they’re losing – Derek Jeter must have said that a thousand times last year – but the Yankees really do have difficulty getting anything going right now.

One more game on this homestand for the Bombers and then it’s off to Baltimore, where Alex Rodriguez will likely be in the lineup on Friday. It’s safe to say he’ll be welcomed with open arms if that proves to be the case.

A-Jax wants promotion in a hurry doesn’t he. Still, it’s way too early and singles-hitting OF isn’t going to do a lot considering the rest of the Yankee offence. Last night for the first time, I seriously thought maybe the Yanks should have gone after Manny, now I guess maybe not. So the steroid era continues…

With this Manny news, hopefully people get off A Rod’s back for a while. A sfar as I’m concerned, after suspensions and all the key is to focus on baseball. What impact this has on everyone’s legacy is not my issue, I want to know what impact A Rod’s bat will have in our hopeless lineup.

All change at this point seems like good change, particularly when that change is a triple MVP over triple A players at third. But our team has many more holes than one player can fill now.

Where’s the Red Suchs d-bag who posted on the prior thread now??

Hey BPark,
What do you think about Manny in pinstripes now? What? Your source told you it was Pez candy?

I heard there was a statement by Scot Boras saying Manny took the drug for a medical problem and it was a prescription!

I’m going to write a book called “The Other 103″.
It will all be based on anonymous tips.

So Manny will not contest the suspension!

Great. Petitte gives us four hits and two runs in the 1st inning. Not a good start. Surely the Yankees couldn’t get swept by the Rays after just getting swept by the Red Sox? This team gets behind the 8 ball early and has to dig themselves out of a hole and most of the time they haven’t been able to do it. If the starting pitcher gets knocked out early then we are in serious trouble.

Is it possible to swap Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the Yanks?
If the fans want winning baseball then they should go to PA.
