Humberto Sanchez released

The Yankees have released RHP Humberto Sanchez to create room on the 40-man roster for RHP Mark Melancon. It never really worked out for Sanchez, as he had Tommy John surgery after coming over from a trade from the Tigers and spent most of his time in the system rehabbing in Tampa.

Even this spring, he was sidelined with tightness in his forearm and went across to Minor League game without even pitching in a game. But the South Bronx product got to live his dream and pitched in a game at the old Yankee Stadium last September, with lots of family on hand.

As a whole, the Gary Sheffield deal hasn’t worked out very well for the Yankees. Anthony Claggett got torched in his big league debut and Kevin Whelan hasn’t made it up to the big leagues yet.

Call 911. The Yankees are in a world of hurt. Injuries are not an excuse. A-Rod would not make that much difference. I think it’s management. Brining in Claggert at the wrong time, leaving the in the starters, when it is obivous that dont have it, The players that had a good in spring trainning were, left out…Berroa for one. But most important of all, this winter they had a chance to get a couple of good relievers and didn’t, knowing full well their bullpen was shakey to begin wiith. Marte was bad last year, not much better in Spring Trainning and has gotten worst. He was a bad investment to begin with. Management is making the same mistakes, year after year, not addressing the bullpen. They should be ashamed of their performance. There is no excuse, and to think the bullpen is tired. GIVE ME A BREAK! It’s only April. It’s disgusting to watch how the Yanks play. I” put odds your Triple A team will give you a run for your money. Boss, come back and take care of this national disaster.

The New York Yankees are in real trouble. They need to fire Girardi and the pitching coach. CC needs to be unloaded if he can’t live up to expectations for which he was signed. They are LOSERS!!!!!!! They are pitiful, and an embarassment to the great ones of the past. They are not fit to wear the great Yankee uniform and all it stands for. They give a whole new meaning to the term “The Bronx Bombers” since they get bombed almost every game. Steinbrenner should wake up and start unloading those who are only in it for the money and forgot what “for the love of the game” means. Tomorrows game in Boston should be forfieted since they are going to lose anyway because they have no guts or fight to win because they are LOSERS!!!!! If they let Boston sit there and wait for 6 hours and forfiet the game, that would be the Yankee’s best and only victory. If Thurmon was still alive today, he would take a baseball bat to those ****** and knock some sense and passion for the game back into them. Billy would unload those overpaid “players” and find some guys who want to play the game of baseball and WIN.
WHAT A DISGRACE THEY ARE!!!!!!

Well another stupid *SS move by Crashman that did NOT work out for the Yankees. One of these dam days the owners of this club are going to figure out that Crashman hasn’t got a clue on how to put a team together.

Chamberlain has mediocre compusure and stuff? What? He’s 23 and got 4 plus pitches…he’ll be a stud if he stays healthy. I don’t see how his apparent lack of composure will help in high pressure 8th innings. It’s early days both in this season and Joba’s career. Look at Greinke in Kansas, he’s 25 and only just showing his full potential. CANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO

Last nite should have been in the bag for Yanks…Girardi out smarted himself the moment he decided to remove Jonathan A. with a 0-1 count and install Mariano as both set up man and closer…those last 4 outs always the toughest…especially since red sox have the measure of Rivera…classic example why Chamberlain will be in bull pen by July and will excell as a set up man…his composure and stuff is mediocre and he will struggle as a starter.

Beckett is all over the place. If AJ brings his game this should be ok.

All the drama of yesterdays game aside, from the coverage I received yesterday lester went 6 inning and the majority of his pitches were 97+, topping out according to their speed gun at 102mph. Was that accurate and if so is he the most consistently fast pitcher across all leagues as a starter. It was I must say impressive, now they have to deal with Beckett, it will be very tough. It seems all the talk of Sabatthia, Burnett Wang Pettite and Chamberlain is a little behind that line up.
Can someone knowlegeable comment especially on the speed of Lester. Has he always thrown that hard. I cannot recall him being that quick in 08.

So the Sheff deal doesn’t work for either side?

Claggett will get another “taste” somewhere down the road. He is just barely out of AA.
