That look like an Opening Day lineup to anyone else?

This is game 30 of 37 for the Yankees this spring … James Delisco, playing Judas in the National Touring Production of Jesus Christ Superstar, will perform tonight’s National Anthem … actor Richard Gere will throw out tonight’s ceremonial first pitch … Saturday is Edwar Ramirez’s 28th birthday.

UPDATE 7:30 p.m.: Assorted other notes — if this is the Yankees’ Opening Day lineup, Joe Girardi isn’t letting on. He said the Yankees still have two capable centerfielders and that he hopes a decision will be close by Sunday. Both Brett Gardner and Melky Cabrera have shown heads-up play, he said, and “their aggressiveness has been fairly close.”

That all said …

“I would say I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do,” Girardi said, with a smile. “I can’t give any answers away yet. But I still want to sit down and talk with Cash and the coaches, and make a decision.”

Girardi said his expectation right now is that New York will open the season with both Gardner and Cabrera, also carrying 12 pitchers. Jorge Posada has shown enough that they won’t need a third catcher.

By the way, the plan is that the Yankees will bring more than 25 players to New York for April 3 and 4. Nobody is expected to play nine innings in either of those games.

Good looking lineup. The only change I would make is… Cody Ransom ninth and Gardner eighth. Gardner has speed, Ransom won’t WOW anybody with his bat, so it’d be a good sacrifice scenario if Gardner were to get on base; Turn it over to the top of the lineup with a man in RISP.

I should be manager — just kidding —.

Well, considering that the guy throwing out the first pitch is “Unfaithful”, I suppose it’s appropriate that Judas would be singing the National Anthem! 😉

hmm..Judas singing the National Anthem? Interesting.
