Pettitte’s season over
That’s all for Andy Pettitte, who will be shut down and has been scratched for Saturday’s game at Fenway Park with what he’s unscientifically calling a “barking” shoulder. Pettitte had a MRI recently that showed no damage but he’s obviously been affected in the second half over his last 10 starts or so. Sidney Ponson gets the ball instead as the Yankees allow Pettitte to go out on the high note from Sunday’s Yankee Stadium finale.
