I was born and raised in NY and that was my first time in Queens Mall. Might just be my last. Manhattan shopping is 300,000 times better. Even if they had some decent stores in that place the clothes were weird. Like a Gap or an H&M…decent stores=decent clothes. Nope…not in that place. Plus it was a really shady area stuffed with the perviest guys I have ever seen. I know what Yankee store you’re talking about but Manhattan is indifferent to baseball. There is this whole NHL store devoted to hockey which is just plain awesome and it has everything…the NBA store has appearances by players like every other day and it’s like a museum. The MLB store is this dinky little shop with just jerseys and tees and stuff. I don’t even think it’s official.

Does anyone think Mo Rivera should start the All-Star game, there’s been buzz that he might, I personally think it’s a great idea.
Evie, ha ha ha I’ve been to Queens Mall plenty of times, but I perfer Manhattan shopping, I love that little Yankee store around Times Square, it’s like Yankee heaven, good stuff!

Nice power outage we have going on here. Hello? Bats? Anyone? We waste yet ANOTHER solid Moose outing. If he doens’t get 20 this season the Offense has a LOT to make up to him.

Seriously? Only two runs to the Pirates? I just got home from Shea…I almost got lost on the subway (yes– even a New Yorker can get lost) so I got off at Queens mall for a while and shopped there the rest of the day till someone came to pick me up (Thanks Will!!)…I can’t stand these close games against trash teams. Those are the games that should be the blowout ones. Like the ones that should be at least a 4 run lead. And jeterstar…I currently play three sports (one not so well) and soccer is just awesome. Agh I love the thrill (who the hell needs Lacrosse?). And speaking of nicknames…since A-rod (which might I add is a lame nickname) might be bagging a senior citizen—AARP rod sounds so much cooler. Could you imagine the bleacher creatures chanting that one?

Chili Davis s a great name. Donnie Baseball (like Teddy Ballgame) is classic. Hammerin’ Hank Aaron, also classic. The “Say Hey Kid,” Willie Mays, Duke Snider–1950s lore. “The Iron Horse” Lou Gehrig–one of my absolute favorites.

I wonder why back in the day most every ball player go a nickname, and nowadays only a select few get one? I wonder if it had to do with having to sell the ballplayers to the public with print instead of video?

Dude all I have to say is what a freakin’ sweet time of year…the only major sport goin’ on is baseball. I looovvvve basketball and I like football, and I follow soccer (I used to play it, so I appreciate the athleticism) but it’s nice that there’s only baseball dominating ESPN and sports radio for the most part, pretty damn awesome. I still wouldn’t mind having Jeet as the leadoff hitter though. And that was freakin’ funny as hell when Girardi had that stache’ on during his post game presser, good stuff. Rollie Fingers had the coolest mustache though. Ahem…Bryan you should post your pic with one of those stache’s on….please?!?

The mustache thing was pretty funny yesterday. I voted for Giambi a few times. I think the fact that you can vote up to 25 times is weird. Our pitching has been great lately. I am thinking we take Pittsburg then 2 out of three from the Blue Jays before the break.
Does anyone knwo what ever happened to Shelly Duncan?

Like

Nice to see Abreu finally come through in the clutch last night. Jeter is starting to look like his old self. The pitching has been on point. My hat is off to Ponson for gutting it out. If we can start scoring runs, we just might make a serious run at this thing………during a “rebuilding” year.
