Sunday at the Stadium
The Yankees will try, try again to get the rest of their slumbering bats going this afternoon under cloudy skies in the Bronx. They haven’t looked much like a lineup to be considered a 1,000 run threat, but hey, it’s five games. So far Bobby Abreu and Alex Rodriguez have been the main guys. We’ll also see how Jason Giambi responds after tweaking his left groin while running the bases in yesterday’s 6-3 loss.
The headline of this post is somewhat misleading (sorry!). I have my first day off of the regular season today, as Anthony DiComo will be bringing you all the coverage on yankees.com. Chien-Ming Wang gets the start for New York opposite James Shields.

Thanks. I took your last post, and posted it.
Bryan, who said that you are allowed a day off? lol.
Teriffic pitchers duel going on between Wang and Shields. Now, if only the Yankee bats can get something going
Just as I say that, Matsui homers. 2-0 Yankees
Phew!! Honestly, this isn’t the kind of baseball we’ve seen in the Bronx all too recently.
Applies to the division as well – Blue Jays sweep the Red Sox…Orioles top!!??!
Not a great start so far but if Moose gets going tomorrow all shall be well. At least we’re not Tigers fans.
Obviously, the offense isn’t going to wake wake up with Betemit in the lineup. Lets hope Ensberg, and Ducan can do something offensively while Giambi recovers.
Wang was awesome! If there were any doubts after the spring he had, they are gone now. Hopefully he can win 18 games this year!

I am loving this season so far… not really digging the schedule though. I always thought that it was unfair when teams play other teams that just had an off day. Like the Royals are off tomorrow but they Yankees aren’t, and then they play the Yanks on Tuesday with a rested team. Maybe the schedule wouldn’t be so harsh if the Royals had to play tomorrow. That’s a huge unfair advantage. I still don’t doubt that the Yanks will kick butt though.

Wang has started far better than either of his 19-win seasons. He’s given us 2 wins from 2 starts with a run support of 2.5 a game, which should be milles lower that what the Yanks will average over the season.
I’m hoping for 20+ wins from him this season.
Wow, what’s more than one person posting my url? Hey guys, you know, when you post some one’s url every where, people will think that it’s spam and then they won’t go to a site. If my site keeps getting posted every where saying to check this out, people will get mad and not want to go to it.
Anyone else notice that Santana had a double today against Smoltz, the only extra base hit among the Mets total of five. File this under totally useless trivia.
Sean,
OK. The two other blogs rejected this kind of post anyhow. This will be the only blog I post it on unless Bryan objects.
I know you put a lot of work into your site and “one stop shopping is nice.”
As you will see, there are many urls posted. They may be shamelessly fishing for hits.
